In 1984, the International Carbohydrate Organization established an award in honor of Prof. Roy L. Whistler to recognize scientists who have made contributions of excellence in carbohydrate chemistry and biochemistry and with promise of continuing significant contributions. This award will be presented following the Opening Ceremony of the XXVIII International Carbohydrate Symposium, New Orleans, USA (July 17-21, 2016).
In 2016 the value of the Whistler Award will be $25,000.
